Reminiscent of fellow quirky queens such as FKA Twigs and Björk, StanLei combines alternative elements of pop, jazz and R&B on new single ‘Wild Womxn’ in order to create a sound that is undeniably intoxicating. Talking about the single, StanLei explains, “Wild Womxn is a homage to the wild feminine, essential force of Nature and creation, and a protest against the lack of respect for it in modern society. The Wild Woman concept is also mentioned in Women Who Run with the Wolves by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes – I wrote the song years before I ever read the book, but when I read her description I got so excited as I realised Dr Estes was talking about the exact same thing I had written.”
